The Councilor for Social and Family Rights, Pilar Torres, has chaired this afternoon the Municipal Board for Child and Adolescent Participation, which has been held in the City Museum, and is composed of 12 children between 9 and 17 years, 3 technicians of the council and a representative of UNICEF.
In the meeting the draft of the Municipal Plan for Children and Adolescents has been presented, in which some 2,400 children from the neighborhoods and districts where projects with childhood and adolescence are carried out have participated.
Said minors have elaborated 511 measures through a participatory process, included in draft 393. The rest have been excluded because the City Council lacks powers for its execution.
According to forecasts, this Municipal Plan for Children and Adolescents will be approved in plenary next November
In the set of contributions received they are represented around 2,400 minors of practically all neighborhoods and districts of the municipality through the projects listed below:
- Socio-educational Intervention Project with Adolescents (Project 13-17), with 378 participants.
- Children's Activities Project (MYP), with 900 children.
- Ciberalulas Project, with 110 minors.
- Fundación General Secretariado Gitano (Caixa Proinfancia Project), with 300 minors.
- Cáritas (Caixa Proinfancia Project), with 435 minors.
- CEPAIM Association (Caixa Proinfancia Project), with 220 minors.
- ASPANPAL Association, with 10 minors.
Councilwoman Pilar Torres explained that "the 2019-2022 Childhood Plan is the roadmap of the set of actions that will be developed in the municipality of Murcia for the social promotion, care and protection of children and adolescents with a budget estimated at 102,286,094 million euros. What we intend is to give prominence to our children and adolescents, and guarantee their well-being for each Murcian child around three principles: equality, full inclusion and social integration. "
The main objective of the 1st Municipal Comprehensive Plan for Children and Adolescents of the City of Murcia is to guarantee the fulfillment of the fundamental rights of children and adolescents, promoting and carrying out actions that comprehensively allow the full development of their physical, emotional, intellectual abilities and social in a healthy, inclusive and equal environment, increasing their well-being and quality of life, including their protection from situations of difficulty or lack.
