The Councilor for Citizen Security and Economic Management, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, has criticized that the PSOE “is throwing itself into the pool again and again ignoring the operation of municipal services.
The tax advice service that the City Council has once again tendered is required by the Municipal Treasury and by the Accounting Service, therefore it cannot imply a relegation in the functions of municipal employees when they themselves require it. â€
“The City Council of Murcia is a taxpayer of state taxes that manages the AEAT like the rest of natural persons or Spanish companies.
It is an advisory contract to the City Council as a taxpayer, since they advise us as if we were a company.
These are specific and specific unusual functions that can only be currently provided by a service company, due to its difficulty in analyzing and specializing the tasks to be performed, â€said the councilor.
Martínez-Oliva has added that “the City Council, like every taxpayer, has been fiscally inspected to see if it has correctly made its relief in its tax returns.
The company advises the municipal staff who is the one who prepares and submits the tax returns and, as in large companies, there is an external tax advisor who helps and is up to date with news or changes in AEAT criteria.
In addition to this, the municipal services as a whole may raise questions about how to focus spending records related to these issues. â€
The councilor explained that “since it is advice on the payment of taxes made by the City Council, this contract has nothing to do with the Municipal Tax Agency as expressed by the PSOE since its ignorance since it only deals with the collection of taxes, not their payment â€
"The contract is 12,000 euros, VAT included per year, and given the volume of mandatory tax returns that the City Council has to make, it is a small amount," said the mayor.
