The Socialist Municipal Group has been aware of the proposal to hire a tax advice service to support both municipal professionals and the company that deals with the tax management of the City of Murcia, something that is "very striking because we consider that on the one hand the officials are relegated again and, in addition, we are paying again for the tax service, since the external company that deals with the collection takes from the municipal coffers a whopping 10 million euros per year ", explains Councilwoman Carmen Fructuoso.

In this regard, he points out that what motivates the new contract is "the volume and complexity of tax actions", so "we do not understand what changes have occurred recently so that it is necessary to re-outsource tasks related to municipal taxes ".

He points out that for this new service, 54,450 euros will have to be paid in three years.

From the PSOE, "we believe that these types of contracts are not justified if we take into account that in the City Council there are professionals sufficiently prepared to deal with tax management," says the councilor.

In the justification report, there is talk of "attending mandatory tax returns, analysis of the expenditure executed at VAT level, deadlines in the completion of official forms, update of its regulations, high level of specialization, use of official tax programs, which make it currently impossible to meet these needs directly by this City Council, since it does not have the human resources, specifically professionals specialized in tax and fiscal matters. "

Fructoso said that "when reading this report we have been alarmed by the clear reference to officials, since they are underestimated, but it is also that the concern is greater because it does not seem that the company that takes 10 million euros from the City Council has to qualified personnel to handle these tasks. "

In addition, the councilor declares that "when these contracts are carried out, the government team is making the reverse path, which must be that of remunicipalisation, and if for this it is necessary to train or update the officials, even increase the workforce, which use the money from these outsourcing on it. "
