European-certified arborists review the 'macrophylla' ficus of the city's gardens (18/10/2019)

"Our first objective is to guarantee the safety of citizens and for this it is verified that there are no levers, dry branches or dangerous wood, as well as that the specimens have a good state of health," explains José Guillén, Councilor for Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration.

Experts have been examining these days by climbing and static and dynamic restraint systems, in detail, the internal and external part of these giants over 20 meters high.

Due to these works, the Floridablanca garden has been closed to the public for a few days to ensure safety during the reviews.

The City of Murcia, through the Department of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, which directs José Guillén, conducts periodic reviews of large copies, as well as those with the singular label.

Specifically, this week experts, with European certification in review of large specimens, have been carrying out these actions in the copies of the city, such as the Garden of Floridablanca to check their status in the face of winter temperatures.

José Guillén has visited this morning the work in this garden, where the arbolist, Santiago Reig.

Some works for which the garden has been closed for a few days, thus guaranteeing security during revisions.

This system does not involve any damage to the specimen, it is non-aggressive methods, it uses a pulley system that is strategically placed for the ascent and descent of the same.

"Our care for the green areas is constant and this week we have been preparing these large trees for the winter so that it is in perfect condition for the episodes of cold and rain," explains the councilor.

In this way, the actions, in charge of the STV / Actúa concessionary company, are carried out before the arrival of the wind and cold episodes that usually happen in autumn and winter.

From the Murcian council it is remembered that the forecasts and revisions have allowed that no notable incident has occurred this summer in this central Murcian garden.
