Before the statements of the spokeswoman of the municipal group of Vox in the City of Murcia, describing as “wasteful� subsidies to the CATS and No Te Prives groups (supporting prostitutes and LGTBI people respectively), both NGOs wish to state the following : - We understand and support that political representatives request reports and demand both compliance with the law and the efficient use of public funds.

- To qualify as "wasteful" a subsidy BEFORE knowing the reports is XENOFOBIA and LGTBIFOBIA, especially when it comes, as in this case, subsidies to help two groups with great vulnerability and who need specialized attention.

- Both entities carry out very necessary activities, which have been evaluated positively by technical and political personnel for years, and our work is irreplaceable.

The funds we receive from the City of Murcia are modest for the important work we do, so our work is both effective and efficient.

- These statements are inappropriate for a municipal spokeswoman, who must represent and protect all citizens (both those who have voted for them and those who have not), and that makes her deserving of her position.

There should be no place for XENOPHOBIA and LGTBIFOBIA in the institutions of a free and democratic society like ours;

Protecting minorities and ensuring equity is one of the most important functions of the public.
