From October 11 to 13, the relics of Saint Bernadette will visit the Diocese of Cartagena.
The reliquary will arrive tomorrow in Murcia, from Granada.
At 4:00 p.m. you will arrive at the headquarters of the Hospitality of Lourdes (Isabel La Católica Street, 1, Murcia) and in the chapel there will be a time of Eucharistic adoration, with an exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, prayer of the Rosary and a vigil of sentence.
At 8:00 p.m., the celebration of the Eucharist will take place, chaired by the Bishop of Cartagena, Mons. José Manuel Lorca Planes, in the parish of San Juan Bautista.
After the Mass, a Torchlight Procession will take place with the relics and the image of the Virgin of Lourdes until the San Fulgencio Major Seminary, where a prayer vigil will take place.
On Saturday, at 9:30 a.m., the reliquary will arrive at the Cathedral and at 10:00 a.m. the celebration of the Eucharist will take place, chaired by Mons. Francisco Gil Hellín, archbishop emeritus of Burgos.
At 11:00 the Rosary will be prayed and at 12:00 hours, after the Angelus prayer, the reliquary will move to Yecla.
At 1:30 p.m. you will arrive at the Basilica of La Purísima.
In the afternoon, at 5:00 p.m., there will be an exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and a talk about Bernadette Soubirous;
then the Rosary will be prayed and the Eucharist will be celebrated.
At 20:00 a Torchlight Procession will take place through the streets of Yecla.
On Sunday, after the Angelus prayer, at 8:30 a.m., the reliquary that will leave for Albacete will be dismissed.
Second visit to the Diocese of Cartagena
This 2019 has been declared in Lourdes Year of Saint Bernadette, when celebrating a triple anniversary: ​​the 175 years of his birth;
the 175th anniversary of his baptism and the 140th anniversary of his death.
The Church in Spain has wanted to join this celebration, so their relics are pilgrimage for 48 Spanish dioceses - from September 1 to December 13 -, bringing the figure of the saint of Lourdes closer to whom, as a child, the Virgin It appeared on 18 occasions.
But it is not the first time that the relics of Saint Bernadette visit Spain, since in December 2018 a reliquary was present at the closing of the Hospital Jubilee Year, granted by the Bishop of Cartagena to the Hospitality of Lourdes, with diocesan character, for his 50 pilgrimage to Lourdes.
The relics of Saint Bernadette visited on that occasion Murcia, Cartagena and Caravaca de la Cruz.
