The Romea Theater will host on October 15 the great gala of the Azahar Awards 2019. The Councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, today presented, together with the members of MurciaaEscena, the Association of Production Companies of the Performing Arts of the Region of Murcia, the third edition of these awards that recognize the work of creators, dramatists, producers and interpreters from Murcia.
A total of eleven productions compete this year for the Azahar Awards for the Performing Arts 2019 of the Region of Murcia.
These are: 'Enrique IV' and 'The Advertisers', from Teatro de la Delivery;
'Extinction' and 'Puss in Boots' by JO!
Productions;
'The moon in the garden', by Teatro Silfo;
'The Lady and the Tramp.
El musical ', by El Molino Producciones;
'Bohemios', of the Spanish Lyric Company;
'Homemade Recipes' and 'Twins' of Small Theater - Theater of Delivery;
'The secret of the Fairies, The musical', by Monís Producciones;
and 'The fault of everything is War Disne, and?, of Trama Teatro.
"From the City Council we support the production of Murcian theater, giving value to the talent of our land and what better scenario to do it than in our Romea," says the mayor.
The gala will be at the Romea Theater in Murcia and will feature various dance performances, music and circus shows, and Encarna Talavera and Javi Chou will be the ceremony masters.
During the gala, four special awards will also be awarded: the honorific that will be for the Superior School of Dramatic Arts (ESAD), the theater festivals of San Javier and Molina de Segura, for their 50th Anniversary, and José Carlos Martínez, director of the National Dance Company.
“The Azahar Awards reach their third edition and from the council I direct I want to congratulate all the nominees for their work and all the professionals behind each of the projects,†says Jesús Pacheco.
Others awards
MurciaaEscena also recognizes every year the work of other performing arts companies in the Region of Murcia.
On this occasion, Percuseve will be awarded the Young Theater award, the Payasos de Hospital company with the Social Theater award and the Pozo Estrecho Theater Festival with the Amateur award.
These awards will be presented today in a ceremony at the Párraga Center in Murcia, starting at 9 pm.
New trophy
One of the novelties of this year the trophy of the Azahar Awards.
The Paparajote study has been in charge of its design, being the winning agency of the 'Call to project' that the Association made last July for its preparation.
