The Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, presented this morning the events Diabetes Run and Diabetes Fest, which will take place in Murcia on November 17 on the occasion of World Diabetes Day.
The day will begin with the first of the events, new this year, the Diabetes Run.
It is a march that can be done in different modalities, such as walking, running, skating or Nordic walking.
The activity will leave from 10.00 in the Red Cross Square of Murcia.
Councilman Felipe Coello recalls that it is not a competitive route, but solidarity, where the important thing is to participate to help people suffering from this disease.
Upon reaching the goal, the Diabetes Fest will begin with sports activities, such as the Health Fair, live music, children's play area and a convivial meal for all attendees.
The City Council supports these events organized by the Murcia Association for Diabetes Care (Adirmu).

"We encourage all Murcia to take a step through diabetes and participate in this day, which combines sport and health," says Felipe Coello.
Other acts
On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, which is celebrated on November 14, free glucose tests are scheduled in the morning in the most popular squares in Murcia (Glorieta, Belluga, Libertad, Santo Domingo and Markets) in the afternoon a series of informative and social scientific events will take place.
Diabetes affects 14% of Murcia, and 80% of these cases (type 2 diabetes) could be prevented by improving our health habits.
For these people, Adirmu organizes its special scientific program for World Diabetes Day.
As the World Health Organization marks this year, the motto is 'Diabetes concerns every family', a work that Adirmu does daily for families with members with diabetes.
