The University of Murcia has received on Wednesday the seal of Quality in Academic Edition CEA-APQ to the Editum-Signs collection.
This seal, joint initiative of ANECA and UNE (Union of Spanish University Publishers) accredits the scientific and editorial quality of this collection after being evaluated following rigorous quality parameters (this year only 4 collections have been positively evaluated).
The delivery took place at an event held at the headquarters of ANECA (National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation);
chaired by the director of this agency, José Arnáez Vadillo.
This seal of quality is promoted by the Union of Spanish University Publishers (UNE) and endorsed by (ANECA) and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).
Currently, more than 1500 collections of books are published in Spanish universities and only 44 of them have it, indicating how complicated it is to obtain it.
The purpose of this label is to encourage the edition of university books to follow quality standards of a similar level to that of scientific journals.
The Editum Signs collection of the University of Murcia (http://edit.um.es/editum-signos/) is coordinated by Professor Vicente Cervera Salinas (Faculty of Letters) and analyzes language as a support for thought, for memory , of creation and of the social relationship, and to understand its manifestations, its genres, its evolution, its rules and its uses is to know more about ourselves.
Editum Signs collects research that helps unravel some of these signs of the human condition.
He has published 42 works by prominent professors and researchers, such as Ramón Almela, Michael Von Albrecht, Mercedes Kutasy, Francisca Moya del Baño, José María Pozuelo Vivancos, Pliar Díez de Revenga, José Perona, Ricardo Escavy and José Manuel Vidal Ortuño.

Rosana López, coordinator of the Publications Service of the University of Murcia, says that "we are very proud that the work of the authors, and the staff of Editum, has been successful in obtaining this mention."
