On the occasion of Healthy University Day, the Catholic University has promoted a hemodonation in which students and workers have participated throughout the morning.
For the second consecutive year, students and University staff have donated blood, throughout the morning, in an activity that is part of the # RETO5MIL campaign, which aims to reach 5000 donations among all participating universities, and So help the blood banks of the hospitals.
Carmen Lucas Abellán, academic secretary of the degrees of the area of ​​food, has affirmed that, belonging to the Network of Healthy Universities commits us to carry out strategies throughout the year so that the entire university community can become aware of the importance of the health and sustainability. "
For his part, Juan José Ferrer, a nurse at the Regional Hemodonation Center, has stated that, "we have the demand to take about 300 bags a day, which means that the teams are always on the street from Monday to Friday and some holidays tomorrow and late, today we are in the UCAM only in the morning to be able to be present in the rest of the universities of the Spanish Network of Healthy Universities.In addition, the healthcare professional explains that the Regional Hemodonation Center is open every day so that anyone can donate .
UCAM has been a member of this network since 2016 and is formed by universities throughout Spain, committed to promoting health in the university environment.
