The Governing Board has approved the renewal of the 19 members that make up the Council for Cooperation and Solidarity.
The term of office will be two years, except for NGOs, whose representation will be annual, and representatives who hold the status of councilor.
The members of the Council, who meet at least twice a year, should know the projects presented and the bases of the calls for grants that are held annually, in addition to advising the City Council and collaborating with it in matters of cooperation and solidarity and propose to the Consistory the adoption of measures for the fulfillment of the budget items destined for this purpose, as well as their distribution.
Likewise, they must propose actions in favor of the dissemination of the values ​​of peace, tolerance, solidarity and non-violent conflict resolution and channel citizens' participation in the face of catastrophes, unforeseen events and emergency situations, through of a fund created for this purpose, among other functions.
Regarding its composition, the Municipal Council for Cooperation and Solidarity will be composed of the following members:
1. President: Paqui Pérez López, Councilor Delegate for the Elderly, Disability and Development Cooperation.
2. One member for each municipal group:
PP: Pilar Torres Díez
Citizens: Pedro García Rex
PSOE: Esther Nevado Doblas
VOX: Immaculate Ortega Domínguez
WE CAN TEAM: Clara Martínez Baeza
3. Five members appointed by the Municipal Government Board:

Coordinator of Non-Governmental Organizations for Development

4. Six representatives of the following NGOs:

5. Two persons of recognized prestige in the field of Development Cooperation:

The members of the new Municipal Council for Cooperation and Solidarity will hold their first session next Friday, October 11 to address the main guidelines and lines of action for the mandate.
