The Councilors of Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, and Social Rights and Family, Pilar Torres, participated yesterday in the EnlazadODS event, organized by the University of Murcia, on equality framed in the project to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), called SDG sessions.
Both mayor were recognized in the delivery of diplomas as Relevant Women of the Murcian Society and participated in the formation of the violet bond that represents the SDG of the Igualad, marked by the UN.
In total, the UMU highlighted the work of one hundred women who carry out their professional work in different fields such as training, politics or business.
"From the Department of Urban Agenda and Open Government we support the adoption of corporate social responsibility policies, such as the equality that was the protagonist yesterday in the event promoted by the University of Murcia, as well as with the other actions aligned with the SDGs," he said. For his part, Pilar Torres stressed that "we continue working for women to occupy in society the role they deserve through cooperation and mutual work."
The event, which took place in the University Square-Campus of La Merced, featured live performances by the University Choir, Victoria Cava, Don Flúor, Kuve and Yana Zafiro.
All concerts and activities were free and access was free until capacity was reached.
The event, in which the rector of the UMU, José Luján participated, was presented by the UMU socio-cultural animation technician, Mª José Montejano;
the vice president of Equality and Diversity of the Student Council of the UMU, Encarna Campuzano;
and the UMU Student coordinator, Diego García.
'EnlazadODS' serves as the start of the 'SDG: 5: Gender Equality', which will be developed in three faculties of the UMU: Labor Sciences, Communication and Documentation and, finally, Law.
