The councilor of the Municipal Socialist Group Enrique Lorca believes that "public employees are not receiving the respect they deserve as workers, because the Law on Prevention of Occupational Risks that regulates their health is systematically violated."
"The Health and Safety Committee is a fundamental tool, which by law allows workers to participate in it," explained Lorca, who also details that "the committee minutes are up late, always at the request of the employees, and not always. "
Lorca has pointed out that "in the minutes there are questions that are made by prevention technicians to the Corporation and that these remain unanswered, which we consider a lack of respect and a breach of trust with the employees of the municipal Corporation, in addition to damage and helplessness that causes employees who are part, among others, of the police and fire services. "
In addition, it should be added that "the Labor Inspectorate has detected 19 deficiencies, many of them derived from the management of occupational hazards, and for this reason it is more important that the Health and Safety Committee meets within the planned deadlines, and that whatever is decided in this body is put into place, apart from the fact that all the information is given to the delegates of prevention of the unions, "said Enrique Lorca.
