The congress will be held on October 3, 4 and 5 at the La Merced Campus
The University of Murcia opens this Thursday, October 3, the 'IV International Congress for the Study of Mediation and Conflict', in an event that will take place in the Paraninfo of the La Merced campus.
The inaugural conference, which will begin at 9 am, will be about the future of mediation and will be given by Johan Galtung, a Norwegian sociologist and mathematician considered one of the parents of peace and conflict research.
Next, the university choir will offer a performance to the attendees and, later, at 11 am, the official opening of the congress will take place.
The event will be attended, among others, by José Luján, rector of the UMU;
Leticia García, president of the University Conference for the Study of Mediation and Conflict;
José Ballesta, mayor of Murcia;
Javier Celdrán, Minister of the Presidency and Finance of the CARM;
and Miguel Pasqual de Riquelme, president of the Superior Court of Justice of the Region.
The congress, which this year will focus on 'Mediation: Science and Key to Conflict Transformation', will take place from October 3 to 5 on the La Merced campus.
During these days there will be different conferences and round tables that will be attended by experts in the field.
In addition, on Wednesday 4, at 8.30 pm, the play 'Hola Mamá' will be represented at the School of Dramatic Arts in Murcia focused on the role of mediation in family conflicts.
