The historic Rex cinema opens, for the first time, to the active participation of young Murcian filmmakers, through projections of award-winning works at CreaMurcia and experimental works.
Films will also be screened in VO for the youth of the Language Club, tapes of the Murcia International Film Festival (IBAFF), the Tres Culturas cycle and audiovisual exhibitions made by students of Murcia institutes.
The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, today presented the Rex cinema cycles with the support of the City Council that Murcia, which will be developed from October 2019 to June 2020, and that will feature the young Murcia filmmakers.
"The cultural production 'Marca Murcia' focuses the programming of these open and free cinema cycles, with which from the City Council we support the historic Rex cinema," said José Ballesta, who stressed that "Murcia is a municipality of opportunities for talent young.

The programming has been established as a collaboration of the City of Murcia with the Rex cinema in the period from October 2019 to June 2020.
Three seasons will be established: from October to December, from January to March, from April to June.
The projections and exhibitions that are going to be made are directly related to the cultural reality of the municipality of Murcia.
They will begin on October 14 and will take place on Mondays.

It will complement the activities related to the program of the Festival of Murcia Three Cultures.
A total of 12 projections will be distributed in four programs, with 3 sessions per program.
1. Cinema and Three Cultures
Film series that will serve to promote the values ​​of tolerance and respect.
It will promote a meeting point between peoples to foster solidarity and tolerance between different cultures, remembering the three religions (Christian, Jewish and Muslim).
On the other hand, the City Council will offer the institutes the possibility of holding film or audiovisual workshops in their respective educational centers, which will conclude with the realization of an exhibition or show at the end of the course in several sessions.
