Pensioners and retirees will continue to enjoy the 100 Transport Bonus, after the increase in pensions (24/09/2019)

The Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Youth, Rebeca Pérez, and the Councilor for the Elderly, Disability and Development Cooperation, Paqui Pérez, announced this morning that the Transport Bonus 100 will be maintained for the retirees and pensioners of the municipality of Murcia, after the pension increase.

To date, obtaining the 100 Bonus requires not exceeding the pension of the minimum interprofessional wage established by the national Government, with an annual recharge of 900 total trips, from the moment of issuance of the same and valid for two years.

The last increase in pensions announced by the Government of the Nation has resulted in many Bonus 100 cardholders, who exceed the legally established ceiling by a minimum amount.

In this way, in order to guarantee the continuity of the service to all the beneficiaries and avoid damage to them, the Infrastructure, Finance, Economic Management and General Affairs Committee approved yesterday, unanimously of all the members, to reach an agreement temporarily until the new system of prices and bonuses is regulated.

This agreement establishes that all those holders of the 100 Bonus Card, pensioners and pensioners, with an expired card during this year or later, will have the right to renew it regardless of the increase in the pension established by the Government.

Likewise, for the rest of the users that join the social transport voucher, the legal reference existing up to the moment of application will be taken into account, that is, the minimum inter-professional salary provided for social benefits and benefits, increased with the current Public Indicator of Multiple Effects Income (IPREM).

The municipal services will study the charging and bonus of the urban transport service, as well as its regulatory regulation, according to the new urban transport model that the Municipal Corporation determines.

Hence, this agreement has an exceptional and transitory nature, whose purpose is to avoid damages to the groups included in this type of bonus.

This agreement will be transferred to the concessionaires of municipal urban transport and districts for immediate application with retroactive effects for those graduates who had been enjoying this voucher and that meet the established requirements.

Finally, it has been decided to order the dissemination of this agreement through the municipal website, media, entities or groups, as well as the concessionaires at their points of sale and information on websites and social networks.

The 100 bonus in figures

According to the latest technical data collected from the different concessionaires, a total of 45 user complaints have been submitted that have not been able to renew their 100 Bonus as a result of the increase in pensions.

Until June 30, 2019, there are a total of 11,022 Bonus 100 cards. During the first half of the year, a total of 3,093 cards were renewed and during that same period a total of 1,796 unrenewed cards are counted.
