The Department of Sustainable Development and Huerta, directed by Antonio Navarro Corchón, offers a new and varied proposal of activities focused on strengthening the training, awareness and environmental awareness of the population of the municipality.
Interested persons may participate in different activities aimed at the general public, with particular attention to family groups.
The offer of activities until December is made up of 8 guided environmental routes and routes, 2 Family Seminars and Workshops and 6 activities of the municipal environmental volunteer program.
In addition, the Information Point of the Plaza de las Moreras and the Visitor Center of the Majal Blanco, as well as the Information Point of La Contraparada that reopened last weekend after the summer season, keep their schedule and will remain open during the weekends and holidays.
Among the novelties of this autumn period, the realization of a Nature School at Christmas stands out.
With this initiative and through outdoor walks, games and craft workshops, the children of the municipality will be able to know the natural values ​​of one of the most emblematic natural spaces of the municipality, the Municipal Park of the Majal Blanco, in the Sierra de Carrascoy .
The activities will be carried out in the Nature Classroom located in said natural area during the holiday period and will be aimed at children in the municipality of Murcia between 6 and 12 years.
In addition, and as usual, this new program includes innovative activities that include a route to discover the natural wealth of the Sierra de Columbares, crossing the path of the dogs and the path of the cat, an itinerary to discover the landscape from the Walls of King-Kong and environmental volunteer activities focused on citizen awareness to reduce the use of plastic and know their alternatives.
And in anticipation of the Christmas holidays, the workshop of elaboration of traditional Christmas sweets that this year reaches its 17th edition will be held in the white Majal.
Within this program there will be a tour aimed at families in the surroundings of La Contraparada, in which children and adults can learn about the natural, heritage and landscape values ​​of this valuable enclave.

Family Seminars and Workshops
2 intense workshops are scheduled in the White Majal Nature Classroom, in direct contact with one of the best preserved natural environments in the municipality.
The workshops are held on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Registration is € 5 (free for children under 17, over 65 and unemployed people).

Parallel to all this programming, the attention to visitors continues with the opening of the Environmental Information Points located in the Plaza de las Moreras, in the white Majal and in La Contraparada, every Saturday, Sunday and holiday from 9.30 to 14.00 h.
and the El Majal Blanco Visitor Center on Sundays from 9.30 am to 2 pm.
