The II International Week of Letters ExLibris offers, from September 23 to 29, an extensive program that combines theater, music, exhibitions, cinema, recitals, colloquiums and workshops.
Literary figures such as James Ellroy, Rosa Regás, Benjamín Prado, María Reig, David B Gil, Lara Moreno, Miguel Gané, Juan Manuel de Prada, Gaby Martínez, Alberto Chessa, Fernando Schwartz, Ayanta Sánchez Barilli, Luz Gabás, Fernando J Múñez o Paloma Sánchez-Garnika will visit Murcia
The Department of Culture and Heritage Recovery, directed by Jesús Pacheco, and the Urban Agenda and Open Government, directed by Mercedes Bernabé, collaborate in the II International Week of Letters ExLibris.
The programming of this edition, which starts next Monday 23 and runs until Sunday 29, combines the theater, music, exhibitions, cinema, recitals, colloquiums and workshops.
Councilman Jesús Pacheco has encouraged Murcia and visitors to "participate in this complete program in which literature opens its arms to host other arts, thus making Murcia a national capital of culture during this week."
For her part, Councilwoman Mercedes Bernabé stressed that "administrations and associations have to go hand in hand in promoting literature as a fundamental basis of culture and this International Week of Letters is a good example of this"
On Friday 27, the Regional Archive will host at 20.30 hours, the ExLibris Gala that will be presented by Óscar López, director of TVE's Page 2 and where the celebrated singer-songwriter and recent winner of the National Music Prize Christina Rosenvinge will perform among other artists, Fran Ropero and Murcian actor Julio Navarro.
In this event, the International Letters Prize will be awarded to one of the most celebrated and successful writers in the world, James Ellroy, master of the black novel and bestselling author such as 'The Black Dahlia' or 'LA Confidential'.
The Madrid Book Fair will receive the Promotion for Reading Award, and its director and president of the Madrid Bookshop Association will collect the prize, while the mythical Austral Collection has been awarded the Editorial Prize, which will be collected by the director of the label Espasa Calpe, editor of the Collection.
The Inaugural Day of next Monday, in which homage will be paid to José Cantabella and the Yeclano writer José Luis Castillo-Puche, will be attended by the former Minister of Culture, former president of the Film Academy and winner of the Goya, Ángeles Gónzalez-Sinde, the former Secretary of State for Culture, academic, poet, essayist, and philologist, Luis Alberto de Cuenca, and former director of Cervantes and the National Library, Professor in Alcalá de Henares and poet, Jon Juaristi

The Chamber of the Faculty of Letters of the Merced Campus of the University of Murcia will be visited by the mythical writer Rosa Regás, and by authors of the best-selling books in recent years in Spain such as Fernando Schwartz, Ayanta Sánchez Barilli, Luz Gabás , Fernando J Múñez, Paloma Sánchez-Garnika, among others.
The little ones will also have their space in the MUBAM of Murcia with tables on children's and youth literature, presentations of children's books, storytelling, workshops, dances, illustration ...
In addition, round tables will be held to discuss Dialectical Literature with declamation acts, Popular and Cordel Literature in the Region of Murcia and poetry recitals
The Artistic Laboratory of Carmen will host a Popular Party on Saturday 28, starting at 6 pm, with concerts by The Bueno, Bosnio and Albena Biresova and meetings with authors such as Juan Ramón Lucas, Rafaela Cano and Nuria Labari.
