José Ballesta received this morning the vice president of Shandong Province, Yu Guo'an, and the deputy mayor of Weifang City, located in Shandong Province, Ma Qingmin.
The political representatives have signed an agreement of intentions, in order to promote common development and cooperation in fields such as tourism, education, science and technology.
The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, accompanied by the Councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, held a meeting this morning with the vice president of Shandong Province (China), Yu Guo'an, and the deputy mayor of the city from Weifang (Shandong, China), Ma Qingmin, in order to strengthen the relationship between the city of Murcia and Weifang.
"Today, Weifang and Murcia strengthen their ties to strengthen economic, commercial and agricultural cooperation, promote cultural, educational and tourism exchange, and promote common development," said the mayor of Murcia, who noted that "this morning we signed the agreement of intentions between Shandong Province and the cities of Weifang and Murcia, whereby we will maintain regular contact between the relevant departments â€.
During the event, attended by six delegates from Shandong Province and two interpreters, José Ballesta received an invitation to participate in the Conference of Friendship Regions with Shandong (province that has about 97 million inhabitants), and that It will be held on October 15 and 16.
Regular contact between both cities
Through this agreement, regular contact is established between Murcia and Weifang (9 million inhabitants), favoring exchanges and cooperation in the fields of agriculture, economy, commerce, sports, education, science and technology, among others.
Likewise, regular contact will be maintained between the leaders and the appropriate departments, and it is expected that both cities will constitute a brotherhood relationship at the appropriate time.
Bilateral relations of Murcia with the Asian giant
"This Corporation understands the institutional relations with the outside as an opportunity for the tourist and commercial promotion of the municipality of Murcia and the establishment of concrete lines of work," said José Ballesta.
In addition to the city of Weifan, Murcia maintains institutional links with Nanning, capital of the Guangxicon region.
Both capitals signed a bilateral relations protocol and soon the inauguration of the Mediterranean garden of Murcia-inspired designed by the Muher for the Chinese city will take place.
