The Councilor for Culture and Economic Promotion, Jesús Pacheco, has attended the signing of the act of donation of a copy of the poster announcing the first festival of Moors and Christians of Murcia, held in 1983, of the Federation of Associations of Moors Festivities and Christians from Murcia to the City Museum
As an allegorical motive of the poster, a work by José Pascual y Valls, from the first half of the 19th century, entitled 'Delivery of Murcia to the Infant Don Alfonso by King Ibn Hudiel' was chosen, a work that is preserved in the Museum of Fine Arts.
The shield also includes the Knights of the Temple, the Knights of the Arrixaca, the Kabila Ibn al-Arabi, Mudejares, Abderraman II and the Kabila Abenmardenix.
On that first occasion as stated in the cartel, the towns of Abanilla and Orihuela participated in the great parade.
It is remarkable, and for researchers and curious about the History of Murcia it will be interesting, that the year 831 still appears as the date of the foundation of the city.
The piece becomes part of the municipal artistic collection and will be exhibited as part of the permanent collection of the City Museum.
