The Councilor for Citizen Security and Economic Management, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, has criticized that "the Councilor of the Municipal Socialist Group, Teresa Franco on different occasions has been carried away by malicious informants which makes him err again and again in his assessments" .
“The representative of the Municipal Socialist Group is dedicated to saying half truths and alarming Murcia.
Murcia is a safe city and, thanks to the work of our Local Police, the day-to-day passes, with the specific incidents that any large city can have, within a normal framework.
From the first moment we worked with the majority police unions to hear their demands. â€
The mayor has indicated that “Murcia does not have 217 agents less than last year as the councilor says but, as you know, they only retired 103. As you should know Mrs. Franco has not stopped serving in the schools of the municipality and the vehicles are already operational almost entirely once they have been cleaned â€.
“I think that security is not played, so it may be convenient for Mrs. Franco to tell the Government delegate that where are the 60 national policemen that Jiménez promised her and what she dedicated to show off on Twitter, since The security work is the responsibility of the State Security Forces and Corps, â€said the mayor.
Martínez-Oliva recalled that “two oppositions are currently underway to cover 135 seats for new police officers but this takes time because the local police force, once the oppositions are over, has to do four months of academy and three of practices.
In this way the 103 places of the agents who have had to retire by the decree that advanced the retirement of the local police from 65 to 60 years will be covered perfectly â€.
“This week, 5 new police officers will be added who come for mobility from other municipalities and, as agreed in plenary, in the next 4 years the workforce will be composed of a minimum of 700 agents, which are 200 more than those currently existing , so they will continue to create agent positions in the next public employment offers, â€said the councilor.
"I recommend Mrs. Franco and the Municipal Socialist Group more dialogue and less confrontation, more try to improve things by contributing to it and less go to easy criticism on issues of such importance as is the safety of the residents of our city" .
