During the visit, the mayor presented the balance of the Summer Works Plan in Educational Centers 2019, for which improvement actions have been carried out in 23 schools in Murcia and its districts during the months of July and August, with a budget that exceeds 600,000 euros, leaving them in perfect condition for the development of the teaching activity.
“The performances in schools have been divided into two large blocks.
On the one hand, the City Council has allocated more than half a million euros to the renovation of the elements that were not in an optimal state.
On the other hand, 80,000 euros have been allocated to the installation of pergolas in schools through the Shadow Plan, so that children can enjoy more areas of shade, mitigating the effects of heat, â€said José Ballesta, who said that“ This Summer Works Plan has been executed during the summer months, so that everything is ready coinciding with the start of the school year â€.
Specifically, both the exterior and the interior of the schools have been conditioned with paint, masonry, flooring, windows, renovations of toilets, improvement works of drainage in courtyards, painting on facades and interiors, replacement of fences, repair of windows, blinds and heating installations, as well as renovation of pavements and water networks, among other works.
The schools in which the works have been carried out, with an investment of 527,000 euros, are Our Lady of Las Learimas (Cabezo de Torres), José María Párraga (El Palmar), Ciudad La Paz (El Palmar), Virgen de la Fuensanta (La Alberca), Virgen del Rosario (La Cueva, Monteagudo), Our Lady of the Step (La Ñora), Juan Carlos I (Llano de Brujas), Professor Enrique Tierno (Lobosillo), Narciso Yepes (Murcia), María Maroto (Murcia ), Mariano Aroca (Murcia), San Pablo (Murcia), Ramón Gaya (Tocinos Bridge), Ángel Zapata (Torreagüera) and Rafael Nicolás Raya (Sangonera La Verde).
