The Sports Palace is already ready for the start of the season.
The Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, has visited this morning the renovation work that has been undertaken on the facade of the main building.
The actions have consisted of the foundation of the access stairs to the installation and the stone cladding of the facade has been replaced by continuous monolayer cladding with a scraped finish.
In addition, the cracks of pillars and stair slabs have been repaired with structural mortar and the underside seen from the exterior stair slabs has been painted.
"The performance has not meant any alteration in the exterior aesthetics since they have used materials of similar color to the current one," said Councilman Felipe Coello, who adds that the next work will be to condition the exteriors, flower beds and gardens.
This is the second major action carried out this year by the Department of Sports and Health in this pavilion, after the comprehensive renovation of the parquet that was developed in January 2018.
The Sports Palace, opened in 1994, hosts the official matches of the UCAM Murcia Basketball Club and ElPozo Murcia Indoor Soccer, has a capacity for almost 7,500 spectators, in addition to offering 870 user seats for sports activities.
