The Department of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration renews public lighting in districts and neighborhoods.
Councilor José Guillén explains that "with this action a reduction in the annual consumption of 12,172 kWh is achieved, an annual economic saving of around 1,900 euros and 6 tons of CO2 will be emitted into the atmosphere."
The City Council, through the Department of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, continues with the work of improving public lighting in different streets and districts of the municipality of Murcia.
Currently, the lighting renovation work has been carried out on the Paseo Marqués de Corvera in the Carmen neighborhood, with the installation of 16 light points with 71 W LED technology on the Avenida de la Constitución, which means a total installed power of 1,136 W.
"This action is adapted to the premises of optimization of public lighting installations and to fight against light pollution," said Councilman José Guillén.
The councilor explains that "with these improvements is also met with the commitments made by the City Council to curb climate change, because this technology reduces the consumption and emission of carbon dioxide."
