The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, within the framework of the 'Piyayo' operation, has broken up a criminal group based in Murcia and dedicated to the commission of robberies with force inside homes of the capital and neighboring towns.
After the operation, which is framed in the 'Plan against housing theft', the Civil Guard has clarified a dozen crimes, not ruling out the involvement of the four arrested in more criminal acts.
Citizens of Prevention of Public Safety of the Benemérita began the operation last July, to investigate a series of robberies committed in homes in Murcia, some of its districts and Beniel, facts that had caused social alarm among the population.
The first steps of the operation were aimed at clarifying the criminal facts with the analysis of the modus operandi and the implementation of established devices to prevent the commission of more robberies and, where appropriate, react with some speed to try to frustrate them.
The exhaustive technical-ocular inspections carried out in the assaulted houses allowed to verify that the robberies were committed using force against doors or windows and the stopover to access the interior of the buildings and subtract all types of objects of remarkable value and easy transport and illegal marketing , as cash, pieces of jewelry and small appliances, among others.
Investigators detected the presence of a group of people, mostly young people, who had a broad criminal record and who could find themselves after the authorship of the crimes investigated, since they were detected transiting the areas where the robberies had been committed in the time slot of its materialization.
The surveillance device developed on the suspects allowed us to verify that it was a criminal group that showed a certain level of organization and hierarchy, since they presented perfectly defined roles to commit crimes.
One of them is responsible for monitoring and studies of the objectives to commit robberies and the rest of the group perpetrate them.
Once all the necessary evidence has been obtained, the Civil Guard has carried out the operation phase of the operation that has culminated in the location and detention of the four members of the criminal group as alleged perpetrators of the crime of robbery with force in homes.
Two of those arrested, the result of the established preventive device, have been arrested in fraganti, when they were committing a robbery in a house in the Murcian district of Santa Cruz.
The investigation shows that the dismantled criminal group is allegedly after the commission of a dozen robberies in homes in Murcia, Alquerías, Cobatillas, El Raal, Santa Cruz and Beniel, although the operation remains open and does not rule out new arrests or clarification of more criminal acts.
