The City of Murcia, through the Housing Service, decided to undertake the Urban Rehabilitation and Renovation Works of the Los Rosales Neighborhood in El Palmar, considered one of the most degraded in the municipality of Murcia under the State Housing Plan.
All this, with the objective of improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of the neighborhood, so that technical interventions have been carried out in the buildings and in the urban environment, as well as complementary measures in the social, economic and environmental sphere with the residents of the same.
"This is an action plan in a very charismatic neighborhood of the hamlet of El Palmar, where more than € 4,471,473 have been invested, reaching a total of 913 homes. This has improved the quality of life of the people who live in this neighborhood and represent 100% of the homes in the Los Rosales neighborhood, "says Paqui Pérez
ARRU II is the second phase started on February 11 and is currently underway with 70% of its execution, so the works will meet the deadline for completion on October 11 with an investment of 1,287,802 €.
In this period, a total of 275 homes divided into 5 blocks will be renewed, consisting of sanitation facilities, repair of stairs and common areas, changes of roofs and actions on facades.
This phase of the ARRU II also includes the improvement and adaptation of the Squares: Laurel, Acacias, Naranjos, Madroños, Moreras and Almendros, in addition to the deteriorated urbanization elements of the other roads, such as paving, redesign of spaces and lighting public.
All of them included in the area of ​​action, especially those corresponding to Pinos and Cipreses streets.
Mario Gómez declares that "the Department of Public Works will provide coverage for all housing and public space rehabilitation projects for social insertion and collaboration, as well as the construction and acquisition of public housing.
