José Ballesta received Diego Huéscar Sánchez, champion of the OGKK Karate international competition, and Francisco José Barbero Vera, runner-up.
The competition was held in Okinawa (Japan), the cradle of this martial art, at the end of July.
Diego Huéscar acts as a Local Police agent in Murcia;
Francisco José Barbero as Professor of Physical Education.

“Es un honor contar con grandes deportistas en nuestro municipio , con profesionales que llevan el nombre de Murcia fuera de nuestras fronterasâ€, destacó el alcalde, quien les hizo entrega de un libro dedicado a ambos deportistas, 'Murcia, arte de luz y agua'.
Al acto asistieron familiares de ambos deportistas.

Francisco José Bernabé, meanwhile, is 6th Dan in Karate and works as a Physical Education teacher at the Santa María d el Carmen
