Almost 15,000 students of Primary Education of the schools of the municipality of Murcia have participated during the past year in the awareness campaign 'Murcia sustainable city', which annually develops the Department of Sustainable Mobility and Youth, directed by Rebeca Pérez, along with Ferrovial Services.
155 schools have participated in this initiative, with the aim of promoting among the school children the guidelines for proper urban hygiene, as well as promoting the practice of a more sustainable management of our waste.
The talks have reached 5,142 students in 4th grade, 5,098 in 5th grade of primary education.
The visit to the waste treatment center of Cañada Hermosa received 4,453 students from 108 schools.
This installation has also been visited during this period by more than 1,000 people belonging to different groups.
The activities carried out both inside and outside the classrooms follow two lines of work: cleaning and waste.

Together with these activities, this school year was joined by the participation of 11,485 students in the Christmas drawing contest, of which 12 drawings were chosen with messages related to the recycling of our waste.
The awards ceremony brought together in La Glorieta more than 400 children who held workshops converting waste into resources.
Accompanied by the eco-lily Lily who led these activities and stayed during the Christmas holidays to continue conducting different workshops involving both small and adults and families who had the opportunity to approach them, around 1,200 people.
