The Councilor for Urban Agenda and Open Government, Mercedes Bernabé, today received in his office the president of the Palin Association, Asensio Piqueras, to talk about the preparations for the Book Fair, which this year will return to Alfonso X El Sabio Avenue from October 2 to 6.
This cultural event, which was recovered last year thanks to the collaboration between the Association, the City Council and the Autonomous Community, will host exhibitions and sale of books, signature of copies of different authors and a host of literary activities aimed at people of all ages
"Alfonso X Avenue thus becomes a space dedicated to reading, a place of transit and meeting for relevant authors from both the regional and national scene," highlights the Councilor for Urban Agenda.
The mayor has also met during the visit to Begoña Hernández, the winner of the Poster of the Book Fair 2019. The young Murcia, 27 years old, has developed a design with an allegory to reading and imagination, travel and stories that exist in books.
âTransparency and closeness are two pillars that characterize this City Council, which defends with initiatives such as the promotion of our culture and the promotion of reading for all types of audiences,â explains Mercedes Bernabé.
