The Department of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration renews public lighting in districts and neighborhoods.
Councilman José Guillén explains that "these improvements also meet the commitments made by the City Council to curb climate change."
With this action, a reduction in the annual consumption of 68,612 kWh is achieved and an economic saving of around 11,000 euros.
The City Council, through the Department of Urban Development and Modernization of the Administration, continues with the work of improving public lighting in different streets and districts of the municipality of Murcia.
Specifically, in Cobatillas, on the Alicante road, a total of 136 points of LED technology of 71 W have just been installed, which means a total installed power of 9,656 W.
"This action is adapted to the premises of optimization of public lighting installations and to fight against light pollution," said Councilman José Guillén.
The councilor explains that "with these improvements is also met with the commitments made by the City Council to curb climate change, because this technology reduces the consumption and emission of carbon dioxide."
Specifically, this action achieves a reduction in annual consumption of 68,612 kWh, an annual economic saving of around 11,000 euros and 34 tons of CO2 will be emitted into the atmosphere.
