Almost 425 young people participate in the summer service campaign of the Youth Service, which offers camps, language stays in Dublin and youth exchanges in different countries of the European Union.
"The objective is to offer alternatives to young people for the occupation of free time during the holiday season. In this way, leisure activities are promoted that favor their development, knowledge and social skills," said Councilwoman Rebeca Pérez who this morning has fired from 50 young people traveling to Dublin for a 3-week language stay.
Aimed at young people between 15 and 25 years old, these rooms are the ideal complement to achieve a better fluency in the language of study, while at the same time giving added value by putting young people in contact with other cultures.
They take place in two shifts, one in July and the other in August, with a total of 125 seats and include travel, accommodation with families, an English course and a program of complementary extracurricular activities to occupy free time.
They have also been carried out during the month of July, camps in Aznalcollar (Seville), Armenteros (Salamanca) and Los Alcázares, with various themes: multi-adventure, nautical, nature or linguistic immersion, in which they have participated in total 200 youth of the municipality.
The camps, aimed at young people between 12 and 15 years, offer recreational activities, nature and environment workshops, creative workshops, excursions and visits to places of interest, adventure sports, night entertainment, etc., which allow them to enhance their integral and human development.
In addition, during the months of July, August and September youth exchanges are taking place in different countries of the European Union, such as Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium or Estonia, among others;
in which those 100 youth of the municipality have the opportunity to participate in cultural, artistic, environmental, sports, etc., sharing experiences with young people from other countries.
Its main objectives are to eliminate barriers to youth mobility;
bring young people closer to other cultures from their own experience;
give the possibility to participate in activities in other countries;
enable knowledge of the youth reality of other countries and favor respect for different cultures and customs.
