The University of Murcia and the Symphony Orchestra Foundation of the Region of Murcia have signed two collaboration agreements with the aim of promoting interest in music among university students and the general population.
On the one hand, this collaboration will allow the UMU to organize training courses and workshops together with the Symphony Orchestra;
and on the other, it will be facilitated that those students who buy a 'Sinfojoven' subscription to enjoy the symphony programming can get a CRAU credit.
The agreements for the implementation of these two initiatives have been signed by the rector of the University of Murcia, José Luján;
and Alberto Garre, Manager of the Symphony Orchestra Foundation of the Region of Murcia.
Sonia Madrid, Vice Chancellor for Studies, explained that "at the University of Murcia we believe in the value of music as a transversal competence; it is the universal language".
The intention, Garre explained, is to take advantage of the visits of professionals to the Symphony Orchestra of the Region to conduct courses or seminars;
activities that would be added, with the support of the UMU, to training given by professionals of the Symphony Orchestra itself.
All activities and the possibility of obtaining credits are open both to students and members of the university community with knowledge in music and to those who want to approach music.
