The City of Murcia will build a new headquarters for Civil Protection volunteers.
Currently the service is located in a small space located next to the Local Police Headquarters and the Infante Fire Station.
After the various meetings of the councilor with representatives of the Service and volunteers it has been determined that the place where they are located is not adequate to host this service.
Therefore, Heritage has requested a plot of equipment in which you can build this new building with the breadth and necessary features.
"This initiative started from the previous Councilor for Public Safety, Lola Sánchez, so there is already a budget of 100,000 euros. Now we have included in the draft budget, which we hope to approve this month, another 460,000 euros so we will have almost 600,000 euros that, according to the plan of needs raised is sufficient, "said Martínez-Oliva.
70,000 euros have also been included in this draft budget to acquire two new Civil Protection vehicles.
This new Civil Protection headquarters will have a parking area, meeting room, changing rooms and warehouses, which will allow to significantly improve the work space of the volunteers.
The priority objective is to start building this new building throughout 2020.
