Now participates in another project to apply the dual career to all higher education, including FP |

The `More than Gold' project, co-funded by the EU through the Erasmus + Sport program, supports young athletes so that they can develop their sporting career in parallel with education in European higher education centers (universities and institutes of Higher Vocational Training) ).

The project partners will develop the guidelines to support dual training studies for European athletes, and will design the methodological material so that the teaching centers know how to easily adapt the educational resources at these levels to the achievement of the double career.

Once developed the methodological material that allows the European centers to adapt the teaching to the dual career, the partners of the project - Latvian University (Latvia), UCAM (Spain), Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi AICUI (Romania) University of Coimbra ( Portugal) Gabriele d'Annunzio 'University of Chieti-Pescara GAU (Italy), The European Athlete as Student (EAS), Pan-European (Malta) - will transfer these resources to the different ministries of education with the aim of promoting this practice.

The project is led by the School of Sports of the UCAM and the Principal Investigator (IP) is Antonio Sánchez Pato.

Worldwide recognition

The dual career model developed by the UCAM and the Spanish Olympic Committee continues to capture the interest of the academic and sports world internationally.

Two of the books published on this model have been included in the Olympic World Library.

In addition, one of them is prefaced by the presidents of the UCAM, José Luis Mendoza, and the Spanish Olympic Committee, Alejandro Blanco.

Both publications are the result of their project promoted by the European Union, called 'ESTPORT', for its implementation in other European universities.

This model UCAM-COE, which allows the university training tutored and adapted to elite athletes, was also exhibited in the European Parliament and awarded in Laussana (Switzerland) by the 'European Athletics'.
