The mayor has received the pianists who participate in the I International Youth Piano Competition Clamo Music City and Region of Murcia, a contest that focuses on young talent.
The event was attended by 40 participants of Chinese nationality, three of Russian nationality, two from Korea and Spanish musicians.
The final of the contest will be held this afternoon, at 7:00 pm, at the Víctor Villegas auditorium
The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, accompanied by the Councilor for Culture and Heritage Recovery, Jesús Pacheco, has received in the City Council Plenary Hall the musicians who participate in the I International Youth Piano Competition Clamo Music City and Region of Murcia Clamo Music.
The event was attended by 40 participants of Chinese nationality, three of Russian nationality, two from Korea and Spanish musicians.
José Ballesta has indicated that "it is a project that aims to attract young talented pianists, both from China and from other countries, who in a few years will be the great masters of the piano all over the world," and added that " 'the contest is part of the' Pianos on the street 'program, an initiative that we celebrate in Murcia during the month of May' '.
During the event, which has been attended by members of the Municipal Corporation, has been a delivery of bags with tourist material.
The contest, organized by Clamo Music, in collaboration with the Economic-Cultural Corporation China-Spain, has had the support of the Autonomous Community and the City of Murcia.
This afternoon, at 7:00 pm, the final of the contest will be held in the Víctor Villegas auditorium, in the Miguel Ángel Clares Room, where the ten finalists selected by the jury will play.
Later, at 8:30 p.m., awards and diplomas will be handed out.
A commitment to young talent
This is the first time that Clamo Music focuses on young talent, after having held five editions of Clamo Music International Competition in the Region, traditionally organized in May, month in which the initiative 'Pianos on the street' is celebrated.
'Pianos on the street' is organized by the Department of Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, in collaboration with Klavier, Iberpiano and Clamo Music and the collaboration of the University of Murcia and the Conservatory of Music of Murcia, among others.
