Electric vehicles can park a free hour in 3,000 parking spaces in the city (12/07/2019)

The Governing Board has given its approval to the collaboration agreement between the City of Murcia and the Parking Association for the promotion of sustainable mobility in the municipality.

Thanks to this agreement, the electric motorcycles or the vehicles with the DGT label with the '0 Emissions' badge will be able to park one hour free of charge in public car parks.

Likewise, from the association they commit to having parking spaces reserved for this type of vehicles and at least one electric vehicle recharging point in their car parks.

This agreement aims to develop actions aimed at protecting the environment and sustainable development of the city of Murcia, through projects that promote sustainable electric mobility and contribute, from the most diverse aspects, to the achievement of the municipal strategy of adaptation to climate change and, more specifically, of the municipal electric vehicle strategy.

Currently there are 13 parking lots -mostly a municipal concession, but also some private ones- that are part of this initiative (Glorieta, Verónicas, Saavedra Fajardo, San Andrés, Vibelsa, Centrofama, University, Santoña, Campillo, Libertad, Excelsior, La Vega and Alfonso X) and that offer about 3,000 rotation places and 2,000 for residents and other uses.
