The Councilor for the Elderly, Disability and Development Cooperation Paqui Pérez chaired this morning the first meeting with members of the UMU and the focal group consisting of municipal workers to lay the foundations for the implementation of the SDGs in the City of Murcia.

During this meeting the main lines of work that will help in the elaboration of the Action Plan 2019-2021 for the implementation of the ODS in the Consistory and that has been formalized in a contract with the University of Murcia have been analyzed.

In this way, the first conclusions have been established to continue developing the diagnosis, the specific training program, establish the channels of participation, review planning instruments and implementation of cooperation and make the whole society known, through an education program and awareness, about the challenges and opportunities that the SDGs offer to Murcia society.

Eradicating poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring prosperity for all are some of the global goals set in the UN's 2030 SDG Agenda.
