The University of Murcia has opened the registration period for the language courses that will be taught during the first four months of the next academic year.
The period to request a place ends on September 8th.
The UMU language courses are open to university students and staff of the institution as well as to anyone outside the university who wants to learn new languages, strengthen their level or get official accreditation.
The UMU launched last year a renewal in the organization of the language offer to better adapt to the needs of users and increase the number of people who decide to improve their level of languages, as part of the internationalization strategy that carries out the institution.
One of the main novelties was the start-up of blended learning courses with online training combined with face-to-face classes.
The calendar of the courses was also modified, allowing the language exams to not coincide with the academic exams and, in addition, 3 CRAU credits are granted to those who complete them.
As a result of these and other changes, during the first four months of the 2018-2019 academic year, more than 1,300 people enrolled in the language courses, which was 45% more than the previous year.
The languages ​​and levels for which there is an offer are:
FACE-TO-FACE COURSES
General Courses
75 hours (50 contact hours and 25 hours of self-employment)
Languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese and Chinese
3 CRAU credits
Schedule: two weekly sessions of 2 hours (morning or afternoon)
Prices: UMU staff and students, 100 euros;
without connection to the UMU, 300 euros.

Courses Preparation Exams.
75 hours (30 contact hours and 45 hours of freelance work)
Languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish
3 CRAU credits (condition of passing the corresponding certification + 3 CRAU)
Schedule: a weekly session of 3 hours (morning or afternoon)
Prices: UMU (€ 80);
no UMU (€ 250)

Conversation Courses
30 contact hours
Languages: English, Italian
Schedule: a weekly session of 2 hours (morning or afternoon)

120 hours (30 hours face-to-face tutorials and 90 hours of online platform)
