The Murcia Tennis Club 1919 will include the denomination of 'Real' in its name after receiving notification of the Royal House for which King Felipe VI has granted this title.
The distinction coincides with the centenary of the Murcian sports institution, founded in 1919.
Its president, Antonio Saura, thanked on behalf of all partners this notification, because, as indicated, "serves to put into value the social, cultural and sporting history of Murcia Tennis Club throughout its history."
"This concession has been based on three fundamental facts: the social, cultural and sporting history of the Murcia Tennis Club, which is part of the history of Murcia, the support received in the form of endorsement from the main public and private institutions of our Region (CARM, Murcia City Council, Real Casino, CROEM, RFET, AECC, UNICEF and UCAM), as well as the elaboration of a complete and rigorous dossier contributed by the members of the board of directors supporting this request ", highlighted Saura.
The procedures began in March, arriving a few days ago to confirm the news through a letter signed by the head of the Planning and Coordination office of the Royal House.
This is the second honorific distinction that the Murcia Club de Tenis 1919 receives this year, coinciding with its centenary, after on June 9 the president of the Community, Fernando López Miras, granted the entity the Gold Medal of the Region of Murcia.
The Murcia Club de Tenis 1919 is already working to present a new corporate image that includes the new name and the distinctive Crown of the Royal Spanish House.
