The Digital Strategy revolves around five strategic lines and twenty objectives.
Convert users to ambassadors
The main objective of this line is to improve the way in which people relate to the University, so that the experience of access to the services offered by the institution is increasingly efficient.
Simplifying access and adapting them to all platforms so that anyone from anywhere can find what they need from the UMU will be a central part of the objectives of this strategic line.
Also increase the possibilities of digital education to facilitate that, more and more, people interested in training can access their studies without limitations of schedules and spaces.
Customize the relationship with groups and companies;
and simplifying, digitizing and automating administrative procedures will be other objectives of this line.
Build alliances that improve our competitiveness
The challenges of the digital economy necessarily involve being in constant contact and collaboration with institutions and other actors of the digital society to establish agreements and synergies that improve the competitiveness of the University of Murcia.
One of the objectives will be to lead platforms and projects that improve the value proposal of the UMU and contribute to institutional strengthening.
Convert data to managed assets
The analysis of data is one of the fundamental axes of this strategy, since it will improve the experience of users who come to the University.
Converting the data into managed assets will allow more and more personalized services to which students and staff can access.
One of the possibilities that will be opened with this objective is that those who study a degree in the UMU can receive recommendations of training complements, postgraduate or mobility stays abroad adapted to their interests and their training so that they get a better performance.
Recommend the most appropriate practices to increase the employability options is another door that will open.
Integrating and improving the quality of the data of the different units is another of the objectives of this line, with which it is intended to add value to UMU services, making informed decisions.
In addition, it also aims to improve rankings by analyzing, in the data, trends and relationships.
Innovate through agile and intelligent experimentation
Innovating and implementing agile initiatives to make the experience of relations with the university easier and more efficient is one of the priorities established by the UMU.
The chatbot Lola, the artificial intelligence assistant that guides future students during the admission process, is the best example of this strategic line.
Adapt the value proposition before it is too late
In this line, the objectives are to identify the opportunities to offer new services before other institutions of higher education, to react quickly to new technological changes and take advantage of the opportunities offered by regulatory changes in the technological field.
These lines will define the Digital Transformation Plan and the specific Operational Plans with which the concrete actions will be established to carry out the objectives that the University has set.
