Psychiatrists, traumatologists, internists, ophthalmologists, pediatricians or family doctors, among other specialties, from various hospitals in the Region of Murcia, to which some additions have been added from the Valencian Community and Andalusia, leave this weekend to Mexico to dispute the World Championship of medical football.
They do it by forming part of the Murcian Medical Balneal, a team that won the Spanish Championship and won the place in the World Cup.
Vladimir Salazar, internist at the Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital and one of the engines of the Murcian team has visited the Catholic University of Murcia to present its president, José Luis Mendoza, with a team jersey for his support of this project.
There he warned that the tournament is more serious than you can think: "There is a very high level, there are twenty teams that are very well prepared and have good players."
However, he was confident in the possibilities of Murcia physicians: "We also have good level, since we have won nationally seven times in the last twenty years."
