The University of Murcia has announced the winners of the program 'Explorer: Young People with Ideas', in an act that took place this Wednesday in the room of degrees of the Faculty of Economics and Business.
The startup 'EcoProteína' by Antonio Serrano Martínez, a PhD student and graduate in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from the UMU, has been chosen as the best project of the Explorer Space University of Murcia.
Its purpose is to produce high quality proteins from unicellular organisms.
Thanks to this award, the winner will travel along with the other 55 best entrepreneurs of this edition to Silicon Valley, where you can enjoy visits to leading technology companies such as Google, Facebook or Apple, where you can contact investors to develop your project. .
In addition, the University of Murcia will award a prize of 1,500 euros as winner of the Explorer Space.
Upon his return from Silicon Valley, the 56 young people will attend a ceremony in Boadilla del Monte, where a jury composed of representatives of Banco Santander, CISE and collaborating entities will select the global winners of Explorer 2019. The three best entrepreneurs will receive a financial award of 30,000, 20,000 and 10,000 euros, respectively, so that they can start their projects.
Two additional prizes: 'Woman Explorer Award' and 'Disruptive Technology Explorer Award'
On the other hand, the Explorer Space University of Murcia has awarded the prize 'Woman Explorer Award', endowed with 750 euros, to Sharon Martínez Quiroga with his project 'Finder of clinical trials'.
The prize 'Disruptive Technology Explorer Award', endowed with 750 euros, has been for José Antonio García García and José Antonio Pérez Bastida for the 'TrazaChain' project, which allows the use of blockchain technology to ensure traceability in production chains.
With this act has closed another edition of the Explorer program promoted by Banco Santander, through Santander Universities, and coordinated by the Santander International Entrepreneurship Center (CISE) and the University of Murcia through its Office of Entrepreneurship.
The objective of this program is to inspire young entrepreneurs to accelerate the development of their startups, providing connections for the internationalization of their projects and the search for funding.
