The Vistabella Neighborhood Association requires the City of Murcia to apply solutions to the situation of dirt in the neighborhood every Thursday, after the street market that is placed weekly in its vicinity.
Although a cleaning crew intervenes for several hours to clean the streets, it is usual, even the next day, the presence of a lot of papers and plastics in the streets of Vistabella, giving a deplorable image of dirt that must suffer the neighbors of the neighborhood, in addition to the unhealthiness that supposes.
The A.VV.
Vistabella considers unacceptable the huge amount of waste left in the streets every Thursday (boxes, plastic bags, fruit and vegetable remains, papers) in the Avenue of Fame and Pedro Pedro Conesa street, mainly, that are dragged by the wind, invading the adjacent streets and reaching the riverbed, with the pollution that this entails.
For the A.VV., it is necessary to involve street vendors, with the placement of differentiated containers by the municipality (paper and cardboard, organic matter and plastics) at regular distances, so that the merchants themselves throw the waste in the places enabled for that purpose.
To do this, the City of Murcia should conduct a campaign of awareness and training, to achieve three objectives: improve road cleaning, facilitate the work of municipal cleaning services, and raise awareness of the need for recycling and reduction in society. the production of garbage.
When in the rest of Europe the trend is towards the elimination of plastic wrappers and the reduction of waste, the situation of dirt that the neighborhood suffers every week and its environment due to the market must be corrected.
