The Temple of the Monastery of Los Jerónimos has hosted the act of imposing scholarships and delivery of diplomas to students of the VIII promotion of the Degree in Nursing at the Catholic University of Murcia.
The event was chaired by Antonio Alcaraz, vice chancellor of University Extension of the UCAM;
Paloma Echevarría, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, and Dr. Jesus Sanchez Martos, Professor of Health Education at the Complutense University of Madrid, who has served as sponsor of the new graduates.
During his speech, Martos highlighted as a pending subject of health professionals, communication skills with patients and family.
"It is essential that all healthcare professionals, especially those in Nursing who are 90% by the patient and their family, know how to communicate and, not only the bad news, but also the good news to take advantage of them. These communication skills must be combined with humanization through closeness and touch with patients, "he said.
He also highlighted the excellent preparation of nurses at the UCAM: "You are a magnificent university of national and international prestige where, apart from the training itself, the cornerstone is in values ​​and humanization."
