Next September, the ninth season of the Romea and Circus Theaters will be held until January 2020, in which almost 90 productions have been programmed that cover all genres: comedy, music, circus, dance, humor and puppets, in all its shapes and sizes.
The Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs acting, Jesus Pacheco, explained that "this season we offer both the viewer amateur stage and anyone who wants to approach it for the first time, a programming based on the quality, variety and opportunity ".
The great line that crosses the programming transversally is the attention to young people, whether they are spectators or creators.
They are especially dedicated to this quarter that will allow them to enjoy the final of the Creamurcia of Performing Arts and Songwriting, a young season ticket with circus and theater proposals, activities arranged with schools in the municipality ... In addition, support will be given to Murcian companies such as Jo Producciones ('The Cat in Boots'), Trama Teatro ('Locos de Amor') or La Madriguera ('Zoo Cabaret'), or companies that pass from children's theater to juveniles of international projection, such as Silfo Teatro ( 'The house behind', based on the world-famous Diary of Anne Frank) or El Pont Flotant ('The seven differences').
The billboard of big names will not remain alien either.
Nuria Espert returns to Romea, together with Lluis Pasqual, to recite García Lorca.
El Brujo also returns to the same stage, Emilio Gutiérrez Caba with his successful 'Copenhague', directed by Claudio Tolcachir;
or Alfredo Sanzol with his latest work 'La valor', this one already in the TCM.
Also large formats such as 'Circlássica', a circus show directed by Emilio Aragón;
or 'Dreaming of the carnival of the animals' of Puppets Etc., which visits at Christmas time.
A great dance cycle has also been programmed, composed of big companies like the National Ballet of Spain, which visits the TCM for the first time with its 'Electra', or the company of María Pagés with 'Óyeme con los ojos';
but also with contemporary dance bets like those of the companies Guy Nader / María Campos, Kor'sia, Otradanza or Roberto Oliván.
Likewise, work continues on making both spaces more accessible with actions such as the implementation of the guidance system for blind people NAVILENS, installed thanks to the help of the Vodafone Foundation and Astrapace in the TCM;
and the acquisition of FM systems and receivers, as well as audio description booths and superscript screens in both spaces.
A series of traditional events such as the Titeremurcia festival, the Don Juan Tenorio, the Semana Grande of CajaMurcia, the Magic Festival of Murcia that is celebrating its XV edition continue in the program;
the street activities that welcome the new programming in September in different squares of the city, the children's theater cycle at Christmas (with 'Aladino', 'Zoo Cabaret' and 'Gato con botas');
the Microscena cycle that has a faithful and demanding audience that follows the line opened this year to work with dramatists, directors and performers of the region;
and a cycle that begins to be expected during the September festivities, 'Teatro en Feria'.
It also begins to be habitual the small season of classical theater that, towards January, will bring to these stages works like 'Marta la piadosa', 'La vida es sueño' or an angry version of 'La discreta enamorada' with the title of 'El discreto enamorao ', by the Murcia group Las Monstruas.
There are also concerts with such distinguished names as José Mercé with Tomatito, Asier Etxeandía with his new Mastodon project or Luis Alberto Segura (former LA singer) among others.
Finally we must highlight one of the great successes of the season 'Jauría', a show by Miguel del Arco with which the company Kamikaze denounces the sadly famous case of the same name.
In short "a set of titles and artists that we are sure will thank the spectators of the city and the Region, who know that the bet that the City of Murcia makes for culture has no better example than the programming of its theaters", has indicated Pacheco
