On this occasion, the UMU has met with leaders of the most important media and communication agencies of the Region of Murcia to meet their needs and thus improve the training and employability of students at the University.
The meeting was attended by representatives of 7TV, 100x100 Creativity + Communication, Atresmedia Publicidad, Bang Branding, COPE, Eldiario.es, Illustrious Official Association of Journalists of the Region of Murcia, La Opinión de Murcia, La Verdad, Murciadiario.com, Onda Regional and TVM.

The meeting can extract the need to bring the idiosyncrasy of the sector to the students because, given its complexity, there is a lack of knowledge about its multiple activities, possible specializations and work methods, for which orientation to students becomes a key action
In the debate, the importance of a clear vocation to exercise this profession and an appropriate attitude that eliminates preconceived images of journalistic and communication activities has been highlighted.
Among the essential skills that must be reinforced in students are oral and non-verbal communication, creativity, problem solving and, significantly, commitment, critical thinking and values ​​that make the performance of the profession understand. optimally in the framework of the social work they carry out, together with a deontological code.
Those responsible for companies in the sector that have participated have agreed that the practices are a fundamental instrument to know the sector by students and a key element for the recruitment of talent, so, often facilitate access to first job to many students.
The communication sector continues to change in a very intense way with new technological tools and communication trends with users, as well as in its organizational and business configuration.

'UMU-LA CAIXA work breakfasts' is a project developed between the University of Murcia and La Caixa, which consists of bringing together six work groups, formed by representatives of companies and institutions from the Region, in 2019. purpose of addressing trends and needs of companies and external organizations, in terms of human capital, to promote the employability of graduates.
It is an activity that is essential for the University of Murcia to maintain the pulse of the reality of the labor market.
The project is developed by the Vice-Rector for Employment, Entrepreneurship and Society, through the Center for Employment Guidance and Information (COIE).
