These three groups will measure their talent this Friday at the grand finale of CreaMurcia pop-rock, which will take place at the Municipal Auditorium Parque de Fofó, starting at 8.30 pm, with the final culmination of the invited group La Pegatina.

The acting mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Infrastructure, Public Works and Services, Rebeca Pérez, presented today the finalist bands of CreaMurcia in the pop-rock category: Decembird, Austin Slack and Mez- K, three groups that will measure their talent in the grand final that will take place this Friday, June 14, at the Municipal Auditorium Parque de Fofó, starting at 20.30, with the final culmination of the invited group La Pegatina.

Since the Second group won in 1998, bands like Alondra Bentley, Muerdo, Funambulista, Varry Brava or the singer Rozalén have passed through this contest that today is a benchmark in the music scene of the Region, "said José Ballesta at the presentation of the bands, which took place this morning in the Hall of Mirrors of the Romea Theater.
Of the 40 groups that have been presented, these three finalists will have half an hour to demonstrate their know-how live.

After the proceedings, the technical jury will decide the ruling.
The winners of the first prize will receive 2,000 euros.
In addition, with the aim of promoting their songs they will record a CD that will compile the awarded themes.
There will also be a second and third prize of 1,000 euros and 500 euros, respectively.
Aids for rehearsal rooms
In the last four editions, the City Council has introduced support and promotional incentives for the groups: aid to cover the expenses of the rehearsal premises (more than 50 groups have benefited), inclusion in the programming of the main events and festivals that develop in our municipality and performances in national circuits.
In addition, the recording of models has been maintained in professional studios for all the participating groups, where a total of 500 groups have benefited from this action during the last few years.
THE THREE PARTICIPATING GROUPS:
Decembird
Decembird emerged in 2015, formed by Mike Navarro (guitar and voice), Lola López (bass and choruses) and Adrián Navarro (drums).
Could fit within the genre of pop-rock but not close to experimenting with new sounds and environments as they gain experience playing.
In these four years, they have played in various halls and small festivals of the city (Microsonidos, Welcome Estrella de Levante), obtaining as a result a very solid and complete setlist and ease on the stage.
Last year saw the light of his first studio work, 'Nada Grave', an EP, completely self-published.
Among its influences we can mention the Polar Response Model, Cala Vento, Radiohead or Nudozurdo.
AUSTIN SLACK
Austin Slack is a young British musician based in Murcia who, with only 19 years, has played more than 1,400 concerts, including two tours throughout Spain.
His musical career began with the guitar and he has collaborated with a large number of musicians and bands such as Maná, Steve Vai and Love of Lesbian.
Some of his great influences are John Mayer, Prince and muse.
In 2018, he recorded his first two EPs and a single with a variety of sounds and styles.
He has been compared to artists like Prince, Eric Clapton and Wham!
Austin is still composing and will soon be releasing new songs.
MEZ-K
Mez-K emerged in 2011 from the hand of a group of friends from Murcia.
At the moment the band is formed by seven musicians with different musical formation, reason why its style is very varied.
It could be defined as Ska-Punk Fusion, passing through a multitude of styles such as Reggae, Funk, Hip Hop, Cumbia, etc.
His lyrics relate topics committed to society.
They have performed many performances in the Region of Murcia and also outside it, where they have been made with an unconditional audience.
They have shared the stage with groups such as Talco, La Pegatina, Dakidarría, Trashtucada, El Canijo de Jerez, Mrs.Tomasa, Poncho K ... They have also played at the XXII edition of Viña Rock Festival (2017).
The Murcian cultural scene, in a boil
In order to address the multidisciplinary diversity and experimentation of current artistic practice, the call for CreaMurcia 2019 includes the following disciplines: Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Visual Arts, Comics, Short and Documentary, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Photography, Gastronomy, Literature and Music (in the categories of Pop-Rock, Other Trends and Author's Song).
A series of performances will be developed throughout this edition, including economic prizes and promotional incentives for the most outstanding artists, the edition of the awarded works in the different supports, as well as exhibitions, concerts, gastronomic exhibitions, audiovisual projections , scenic representations, etc.
In addition, the City of Murcia, in order to promote the most prominent artists of this call, promote their participation in meetings, exchanges, events and artistic and cultural events both local, national and international.
