The University of Murcia will develop a new edition of the program 'We are all Campus', a project that allows young people with intellectual disabilities to form at the University and prepare to get a job.
It is the third consecutive time that this training program has been selected in the University Convocation promoted by the European Social Fund and the ONCE Foundation.
Twenty-nine projects of Spanish universities have been submitted to the call, of which 23 have been selected, among them the one presented by the UMU.
'We are all Campus' offers a maximum of 15 places for young people with intellectual disabilities aged between 18 and 30 years, who will receive teaching by teachers of the University of Murcia.
The content approach is carried out in an applied and transversal way and includes a practical period of 180 hours that will allow the students to interact with collaborating companies.
For students with intellectual disabilities, this program is an opportunity to improve their autonomy and social and labor inclusion, while allowing them to develop the motivation for learning and the responsible performance of tasks.
For the UMU it means establishing a system of inclusive training and standardization in the environment of the university community.
The program is developed under the support of the Vice-rectorate of Studies, the vice-rector for Employment, Entrepreneurship and Society and the Vice-Rector for Students and Services to the University Community.
It also includes support from the technical and administrative staff of the Center for Employment Guidance and Information (COIE) and the Service of Attention to Diversity and Volunteering (ADyV) of the University of Murcia, and has the participation of social entities such as CERMI Region of Murcia, Full Inclusion Federation, CEOM Association and Fundown.
