The Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities Act, Adela Martínez-Cachá, participated in the commemoration of the 43 anniversary of the opening of the Residence for Persons with Disabilities 'El Palmar', along with residents, family and professionals of the center.
Before more than 200 people, the counselor wanted to highlight the work of all workers in the residence that depends on the Murcian Institute of Social Action (IMAS), especially one of the educational assistants that develops its work since the center opened its doors in 1976. "You have made a vocation your work that is to improve day by day the life of those who need it most," said Martinez-Cacha.
He added that "the Community is very fortunate to have people so involved in public centers that improve the quality of care for people with disabilities."
The activities of celebration of the anniversary included musical performances performed by people with disabilities of the residence, which has 90 places of day center and residence and is financed by the Community with 4,300,000 euros.
