José Ballesta receives the delegation of young artists and creators from Murcia who will represent Spain at the XXI National Gastronomic and Cultural Festival of Poland, which will be held from 6 to 10 June.
The event coincides with the centenary of diplomatic relations between Spain and Poland and the twentieth anniversary of the twinning between Murcia and the Polish city of Lodz.
The acting mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs in office, Jesús Pacheco, met today with the delegation of young artists and creators from Murcia who will represent Spain in the XXI National Gastronomic Festival and Cultural of Poland, which is held next week, coinciding with the centenary of diplomatic relations between Spain and Poland and the twentieth anniversary of the twinning between Murcia and the Polish city of Lodz.
The creators and artists, who travel to Poland tomorrow, will screen the Murcia Brand in this international event of culture, which takes place from 6 to 10 June in the city of Lodz, under the name of 'Dobregu Smaku'.
"We believe in the Murcian young talent and its international projection as a reflection of the 'Marca Murcia'", said José Ballesta, who added that "Murcia has been invited by the Embassy of Spain in Poland and the own mayor of the host city, Lodz, with which we celebrated 20 years of twinning. "
Music, dance, urban art, gastronomy and design
The Murcian delegation is made up of a group of artists of diverse tendencies (music, dance, urban art, gastronomy and design) who, for the most part, have projected their visibility through young Murcian talent platforms, promoted by the City Council.
Thus, the urban artist Carlos Callizo, architect of the mural 'La cara de la Paz' in the neighborhood of the same name, makes up the delegation through the Office of Graffiti of the City Council.
Callizo will paint in the installations where the festival takes place, the Off Piotrkowska leisure center, a large 5x3.5 m mural that pays tribute to Murcia and the woman huertana, who will embellish the space permanently.
The flamenco group composed by the bailaora María Mercedes Carillo García (co-director of the Ballet Flamenco de Murcia), the cantaor José Antonio Chacón and the guitarist Francisco Tornero will also have a leading role.
The group will star in various singing and dancing shows during the festival.
Murcia fashion will be present at the hands of the firm Gloriaca, represented by Susana Olmos López, who will hold meetings with businessmen of different nationalities in a meeting promoted by the Chamber of Commerce of Lodz on June 7, with the aim of introducing this signature Murcia in the Polish market.
This firm, which has participated in various cultural initiatives promoted by the City Council as the recent Mediterranean Runway, will exhibit its product at the Murcia fashion stand of the Fair.
The cuisine of Murcia will have a leading role in the hands of chef José Manuel Rico Pérez, expert hotel teacher of the Municipal School of Hospitality 'Murcia Emplea', who will prepare a rice and Murcian vegetables for 150 people.
